Comfrey is a herb which has been found to have excellent anti-inflammatory properties and is healing for

The comfrey is a herb which gathered in the local rural area and macerated in organic sunflower oil.  The ointment is a luscious green colour from the herb and with the other ingredients added has a wonderful feel on skin. The combination of nourishing carrier oils and soothing lavender essential oil is completed by beeswax, which gives your skin protection - an added barrier against the harsh outside elements.

The ointment contains:

• beeswax,
• comfrey - root, flower and leaf,
• sunflower & wheatgerm oils,
• essential oils of lavender (lavandula angustifolia),
• natural preservative - benzoin gum tincture 

All ingredients organic except the natural preservative.

From Daily Mail 26 Jan 2010 "A cream made from the herb comfrey could be as good as over-the counter painkillers for treating sprained ankles says a new study.  In one Italian trial, comfrey ointment was as effective as the anti-inflammatory gel diclofenac on pain, swelling, movement and tenderness.  Results from further U.S. studies have led researchers to believe ointments based on the herb might also work for back pain and other painful joint problems, such as osteoarthritis"
