The oil is produced from the needles and twigs of this originally Mediterranean tree. It has been used for centuries for its properties. Cypress is well known as a venous decongestant, and so can be helpful for haemorhoids, varicose veins and oedema. It can be helpful for nervous tension. Also for respiratory system especially bronchial problems and coughs, as it is antismasmodic. Cypress can be helpful to regular menstrual issues and menopause On the skin is good for oily skin and acne. Also where there is excessive pespiration, it is astringent and deodorant.
