The essential oil is made from the root of vetivert. It is native to India, and its Indian name is the 'oil of tranquility'. It can therefore be helpful for stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia. Also for shock and trauma

It is good in skincare for oily skin, acne and strengthening/restorative for connective tissue. Also may be helpful for muscular tension and arthritic conditions

On a subtle level it is helpful for grounding, stabilising. It is a very viscous, dark coloured oil.
